An Ancient Art

From The Bulletin Newspaper, Bend, OR. Saturday Oct. 2nd. 2010
Written by Ryan Brennecke

Anita Woo, of Malaysia, releases an arrow from her Turkish-style bow
while practicing her shooting Friday afternoon at the Deschutes County
Fair & Expo Center in Redmond in preparation  for the USA International
Invitational Horseback Archery Challenge, to be held today and Sunday.
Competitors are coming form South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom,
Mongolia, Brazil, Poland, Malaysia, and all corners of the U.S. The top
Horseback archers in the world will compete for honors in several fast-
paced events combining speed and accuracy.  Competitors ride in period
costumes of their countries, shooting targets along a 160-meter track
while galloping without reins.
