Your bow weight and personal draw length are needed to use the charts below.  Draw length is a measurement of the arrow between the nock and the point, from the back of the point to the deepest part of throat of the nock.

RCA offers 3 ranges of Spine Weight Tests Kits (4 different spine weights) of Port Orford Cedar wood to help determine which spine will shoot better with your bow, the charts are helpful but may not be precise.

"The spine weight, or "stiffness" of the wood shaft is the most important characteristic of the arrow shaft.  Port Orford Cedar Arrows are spined both automatically and manually.  The average dozen arrows with the same spine weight will not vary more than plus or minus 2 1/2  pounds, and that difference is frequently hard to notice for the bowhunter.  Excerpts from Bowhunting with Wood Arrows

Unlike aluminum, fiberglass or carbon glass shafts, the spine weight of Port Orford Cedar Arrows is virtually natural and cannot be "manufactured". The spine weight is solely determined by the diameter of the shaft and the density of the Port Orford Cedar wood.  Top grade Port Orford Cedar Wood Arrows have small diameters and high spine weights.   But since the advent of the compound bow, the larger diameter and high spine weight wood arrow shafts have been of high demand.  These wood arrow shafts not only give bowhunters the necessary spine weight, but they also provide acceptable mass weight which is so important for penetration power.
